Keep in mind that when you upload a file on one computer and download it on another, you need to have the same application for both. For example if your file is a Word document on one computer, then you need have Word on the other computer. Many times students have Microsoft Works on their home computer which is not compatible with Microsoft Word.
Symbaloo: Keep your bookmarks organized online where you can access them from any computer. You can also share your bookmarks. The bookmarks are tiles in a grid and you can make as many "web mixes" (pages of tiles) as you want. You can also search for web mixes under different topics that others have shared. Go2Web20: Hundreds of Web 2.0 tools (applications) which are categorized and searchable.
Planbook Edu: An online lesson plan book which is easy to use and versatile. You can share this planbook with students and parents.
Cool Teaching: Web 2.0 Apps for the Classroom: This blog has links to various online applications and reviews for each application.
Graphic Organizers: A list of web tools to either print or create graphic organizers online.
Prezi: Make a zooming presentation. There is a free education version. This is very different than PowerPoint.
Free Technology Toolkits for the Classroom: This is a Wiki with hundreds of links under various topics.
Glogster: Make your own "Glog" instead of a "Blog". Graphic tools are used to make a poster where you can post text, videos, pictures, and more. Teachers: there is a free educational version where you can set up your own student accounts.
Scratch: Make your own interactive stories and games and share them with others. Also a great introduction to programming.
Finding Dulcinea (a librarian on the internet): Easily searchable for all kinds of articles and information. Could work well for research reports.
Zotera: This is an add-on for the Firefox web browser for those doing reserach. Allows you to take notes and capture information for a works cited page. Everything you do is stored online so you can access from any computer.
Mac Basic Lessons : This is a great place to start if you are new to Macintosh computers with easy to follow lessons on everything from how to find files on your computer to customizing the desktop and dock of your Mac.

My Fake Wall: Make a fictitious Facebook wall. This web site can sometime run slow, but has good examples of fake walls.
Fakebook: Another site where students can make a fictitious Facebook wall. This web site also has some other classroom tools.
