The USD 112 Board of Education will hold Special Meetings on Feb. 20th, 6 pm at CPES, Holyrood. Subject: Board Goal-setting session with Gary Sechrist, KASB. A second special meeting will be held immediately following the first special meeting. Subject: Discussion & possible action on the Futures Committee.
The CPES kindergartners have their Corduroy Bears' and third graders have their Folk Art Birds displayed in the Ellsworth County School Art Show. It is at the Ellsworth Area Arts Council Gallery which is open from Monday thru Friday 12:30-4:30pm. It is on display until March 26th.

CPHS Order of Play for Friday, Feb. 14 at LaCrosse: 4:00 - 3 qtrs JV Girls, 4 qtrs JV Boys, Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys.
The Central Plains High School Band performed at the Bryce Luty Jazz Festival at Hutchinson Community College on Jan. 31. They played three selections with their last piece being, "Don't Forget the Sunscreen (or Sunglasses)." There were three adjudicators for the day, and had a private session with Marcus Lewis from Kansas City. Eighteen jazz bands participated in the two-day event.
CPHS is hosting a cancer awareness night on February 17th during the home basketball games. Ribbons are being sold for $1.00 to honor survivors, fighters, and victims. Ribbons will be made in a variety of colors in order to symbolize the type of cancer specific to your loved one. Please denote the color of your choice on the order form. Please return orders to CPHS by February 11th.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAN: USD 112 Central Plains is currently taking applications for a building maintenance/custodian at Central Plains Jr-Sr High School in Claflin, Kansas, effective immediately. This would be a full-time, year-round position. Benefits include BC/BS health insurance, KPERS retirement, life insurance, along with vacation, sick and personal leave. Salary is based on experience. USD 112 CENTRAL PLAINS is seeking substitute bus drivers. Candidates must pass the Class A or B licensing test, complete 12 hours training in a school bus, First Aid/CPR, defensive driving and a DOT Physical. Central Plains is able to help with these requirements if needed. Starting wage is $16.49 per hour.
